Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, Texas is a state arboretum and botanical garden dedicated to conserving native plants and promoting the benefits of native plant landscapes. It was known as “National Wildflower Research Center” until 1997. Established in 1982, it is home to over 900 species of native plants. It offers various educational programs and events as well. Established in 1983 and incorporated a year later, it presents and promotes traditional contemporary Mexican and Latino art and culture. Tourists should also visit the Bull Creek District Park. It was established in 1971 with a rich natural habitat. Named after Bull Creek, it offers different outdoor activities like fishing, hiking, and swimming. Other facilities onsite include basketball court, multipurpose field, and volleyball court. Another interesting site to visit in the area is Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve. Established in 1974, it features several hiking trails. The preserve does not permit bikes, pets, picnics, and smoking within its perimeter.
