RAAF Base Tindal / Katherine Tindal Civilian Airport – KTR Tindal

The RAAF Base Tindal is a civil aviation airfield and a military air base of the Royal Australian Air Force. It’s located about nine miles southeast of the town in Northern Territory, Australia - Katherine. Built in 1942, KTR Tindal has since been the RAAF’s main operational base in the Northern Territory and is currently the home base of No. 75 Squadron as well as other non-flying RAAF units. In the early 1990s, the RAAF and the town council of Katherine established an agreement for the joint use of the runway as well as other facilities on the base. A general aviation area and civilian passenger terminal were constructed as a result of this agreement.
