Sogndal: A Frosty Holiday Getaway
From the traditional district of Sign lies the town of Sogndal, Norway. It is part of the Vestland County. The town was founded in the year of 1838 but as of 2020, there has been a merge from other municipalities to form a much larger one that is now under the town. Its name was derived from two Old Norse words which would then translate into “river valley.”
Best Time to Visit
Sogndal is cold throughout the whole year. If it is not moderate to heavy rain experienced in town, then it is buried too deep in snow. Winter, between November and March, is the best season to visit the town as it is near many ski resorts and centers.
