Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport is a public airport owned and operated by Sonoma County DOT. In 1942, the airport opened its doors as Santa Rosa Army Airfield assigned to Fourth Air Force as a training base. It was turned over to the War Assets Administration in 1946 for conversion into a public airport. Situated at a 1,125-acre land, the airport has two (2) runways measuring 5,502-foot long and 6,000-foot long, respectively. Currently, four (4) airlines are operating at the airport. Alaska Airlines has regular flights to Los Angeles, Orange County, Portland, San Diego, and Seattle/Tacoma. American Eagle has regular flights to Phoenix-Sky Harbor, and Dallas/Fort Worth and Los Angeles. Sun Country Airlines has seasonal flights to Las Vegas and Minneapolis/St. Paul. Lastly, United Express has regular flights to Denver and San Francisco. From August 2018 through July 2019, the five (5) busiest routes include Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle/Tacoma, San Diego, and Orange County. Located at the southeast corner of Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport is the Pacific Coast Air Museum.
